Call for SONYArtists...
We need 4”x 6” artwork, for our upcoming fundraiser event and future online sampler gallery.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Register your commitment to donate 4x6 sampler panels of your work by:
- Registering for this call OR
- Send an email using the subject line: “I’m in! to: info@sonyaonline.org and tell us your name, phone number and how many panels you'll donate.
2. Pick up 4x6 art panels at SONYA’s office, 305 Vanderbilt Ave (between DeKalb & Lafayette Aves) on:
- Friday, Nov 12, 4 pm - 7 pm
- Monday, Nov 8, 5 - 8pm
- (*plus other times/places to be announced).
NO DEPOSIT required on panels. (Just your signature vow to return them w/ your creation on them on time.)
3. Create anything you’d like on the panels. (See FAQ’s below.)
4. Deliver your finished panels to:

Tuesday, Nov 30th, 4 - 8pm.
5. Spread the Word--share our event info on facebook, twitter, etc. Come with family and friends to Outpost Café, 1014 Fulton St, Brooklyn, on Thursday, December 2nd, 7:30-9pm. Encourage them to join Friends of SONYA.
FAQ’s
- This call is for current SONYArtist members. and friends... it’s easy to join or update your SONYArtist membership status at www.sonyamembers.org/ Professional artists, age 21 and above, who live, work, or show within the boundaries of Flushing Ave (including the Navy Yard), Bedford Ave, Atlantic Ave and Flatbush Ave are eligible for SONYArtist membership.
- All donated artwork must be created on or mounted on an Art Boards 4x6 panel. We have over 100 4x6 panels of assorted media for artists to create new original art or mount 4x6 sections of older original gems. (No reproductions or snapshots, please!) The panels were made especially for SONYA by Art Boards of Brooklyn.
- Any media is acceptable. Orientation can be landscape or portrait. Please note the notches for hanging on the back, making sure they end up on the upper (and reverse) side of your piece.
- Please keep the outer dimensions at 4x6!!!! Very important.
- Donating artists will receive contact info on buyers of their work if the buyer does not wish to remain anonymous.
- Do NOT frame or attach hanging wire to the panels!!!! The slots on the back will be used for hanging each piece.
- Artists may donate up to 10 panels at a time.
- Donate 5 panels and choose one 4x6 panel created by another artist as your gift back from SONYA.
- All sales are cash/carry. All unsold works become the property of SONYA and will be included in our online gallery coming in 2011.
